Case Study: System Build & Install For UK Paper Mill

Case Study: Designing, building and installing a custom fluid power system for a major UK paper mill

Over the past few months, our team has been working on a new project, designing, building, and installing a custom fluid power system for one of the UK’s largest paper mill plants.

Collaborative Design And Build Process

Our skilled engineers and projects team, in collaboration with a trusted partner, worked closely with the client to develop a solution that addressed their unique requirements. From the initial consultation to the final installation, our approach focused on precision, performance, efficiency, and reliability.

The project included:

  • Custom Design: We began by designing a system that would integrate seamlessly into the plant’s existing operations, ensuring maximum efficiency and minimal downtime during installation.
  • Complete Power Pack and Scavenger Tank Build: Our team engineered and assembled a bespoke power pack and scavenger tank system, built for the specific client needs.
  • Pipework Installation: The completion of extensive pipework, designed to manage fluid flow efficiently and safely, was a critical component of the system.
  • Testing and System Install: Once the build was completed, our team tested the entire system to ensure optimal functionality before the final installation on-site.

End-to-End Project Involvement

One of the aspects we take pride in is being involved in a project from concept through to completion. For this project, we not only managed the design and build phases but also oversaw the testing and installation process to ensure every detail met our high standards.

We used a range of products from our market-leading brands, HYDAC and Bosch Rexroth, which are renowned for their quality and performance in fluid power systems. These trusted components played a key role in delivering a solution that met the client’s expectations for performance and efficiency.

Next Steps: Final Commissioning

Our engineers will return to the site over the next few weeks to perform the final stages of the project, which include flushing the system, conducting pressure tests, and finalising the commissioning process. These steps will ensure that the fluid power system is fully operational and ready for long-term use at the plant.
