Carr Lane’s standard rectangular key is designed for fixtures with a slot for mounting on a specific machine table. The slot depth in the fixture should be half of the B dimension. It is available for table-slot sizes ranging from 1/2" to 1-1/16" (12mm to 20mm in metric). It is secured with a socket-head cap screw.
These fixture keys adapt a key-slotted fixture or vise to machine tables with a different slot size. Keys are available to fit machine-table slots that are either larger or smaller than the fixture slot. The top and bottom of the key are centred within .0005" of each other. It is available for table-slot sizes ranging from 1/2" to 1-1/16" (12mm to 20mm in metric). It is secured with a socket-head cap screw.
The ideal fixture key for a wide range of applications. These keys are interchangeable, as they all fit into a standard 5/8" reamed hole. Easily mount any fixture on any machine tool by simply switching keys. No need to slot the underside of fixtures. Achieves concentricity with a tolerance of .0005" TIR or better. Secure the fixture from above or below using a hex wrench. Compatible with table-slot sizes ranging from 3/8" to 13/16" (12 to 22mm metric).
Each of these Carr Lane reamed-hole fixture keys can accommodate two different table-slot sizes by rotating 90°. They should be installed in a standard 5/8" reamed hole with a concentricity of .0005" TIR or better. Secure them from below using a 1/4-20 socket-head cap screw through the counterbored hole, or from above with a 5/16-18 socket-head cap screw.
Carr Lane’s mill fixture keys are detachable fixture keys designed to fit into a 7/8" reamed hole. It accommodates two table-slot sizes (11/16" and 13/16") with a simple 90° rotation. The keys can be removed before machining, once the fixture is securely attached. The crossholes on the top simplify insertion and removal. Offers concentricity within .0005" TIR. Available in two lengths: standard or extra-long.
Pallet fixture keys are designed for securing tooling plates and blocks to standard DIN pallets. Each pallet needs one centre key and one radial key for proper orientation. If needed, the radial key can be removed after the pallet is secured to the machine table. The threaded hole on top of each pin simplifies both insertion and removal. The centre keys featured here are compatible with 25, 30, and 50mm centre-hole diameters, while the radial keys are available for 20 and 25mm radial-hole diameters.
