Team & client training on Bosch Rexroth’s ctrlX Automation System
Last week, our Engineering Manager, Andrew, together with a main contractor and our University client, visited Bosch Rexroth to further advance our knowledge and hands-on experience with the ctrlX Automation system.
What is ctrlX?
ctrlX AUTOMATION is an advanced toolkit designed to provide all the essential components for complete automation solutions—from controllers, drives, and motors to I/Os, Motion, PLC, and IoT functionalities. Its open, modular, and scalable architecture supports everything from straightforward applications to complex, customised solutions, ensuring high flexibility and future-proof capabilities. With ctrlX CORE, functions can be seamlessly added as apps, offering an adaptable platform that evolves with project needs.
A Valuable Training Session
David Halford from Bosch Rexroth led a superb session on ctrlX’s full capabilities, including in-depth training on apps, functions, and the programming settings available within the system. The session covered how ctrlX will be utilised in our major project and gave each attendee hands-on experience with the technology.
During the training, ctrlX software was loaded onto user laptops and connected to a demo unit featuring two servomotors. Users could control these servomotors with precision, managing direction, rotation speeds, and timing parameters, along with immediate ramping and slowing—highlighting the responsiveness and versatility of the ctrlX platform.
Factory Tour and CytroBox Demonstration
In addition to the training, we had just enough time for a quick factory tour and witnessed the revolutionary CytroBox in action! It’s currently being used to test a Hagglunds motor in preparation for commissioning in the coming weeks.
